Southwesterly winds of 15 to 20 knots this evening, veering in the northwest overnight as a weak low moves just north of Placentia Bay. Winds diminish to 5 to 10 knot southwesterlies by Friday afternoon under a ridge. Southwesterly winds near 10 knots Friday evening into Saturday morning near the ridge. Winds freshen to southeasterlies of 15 to 25 knots Saturday afternoon as Hurricane Earl moves over the Maritimes. Winds freshen to 25 to 30 knots Saturday evening as Earl moves northward over The Gulf of St. Lawrence. Fair visibility becomes good tonight. Visibility diminishes to fair Saturday afternoon. Low 17 tonight, high 19 Friday, low 17 Friday night.

The new WatchKeeper buoy located at Come By Chance Point is now on station and reporting on the SmartBay.ca website and on SmartBay Mobile. Many thanks to Canadian Coast Guard for their cooperation and assistance in getting the new buoys deployed.
